Project title: Molly Michie Preschool Playground
Thanks to a grant from the Dave Matthews Band's Bama Works Fund, this cooperative non-profit preschool was able to renovate its playground with non-toxic materials to replace the old pressure-treated wood and new outdoor furniture and equipment. In conjunction with architect Jeffrey Sties, the design was implemented largely by volunteers, including the construction of the play structure and the storage shed. The children in the surrounding neighborhood use the playground during the school's off hours, and picnic tables and benches encourage parents and children to linger.
